What We Collect
EventPiq collects the following data to provide our facial recognition photo delivery service:
- Event owners: Email, name, business name, payment information (processed by Stripe)
- Event photos: Images uploaded by event owners, stored securely in cloud storage
- Facial geometry data: Biometric identifiers extracted from event photos for face matching purposes
- Guest selfies: Photos taken by guests for face matching, automatically deleted within 24 hours
- Guest sessions: Search activity and download history (no personal identification required)
Biometric Data (BIPA Compliance)
We collect facial geometry data (biometric identifiers) from event photos and guest selfies for the sole purpose of matching guests to their event photos. This data is:
- Collected only with explicit, informed consent
- Used solely for photo matching within the specific event
- Never sold, leased, or shared with third parties
- Stored using industry-standard encryption
- Guest selfie biometric data is deleted within 24 hours
- Event photo face indexes are deleted when the event is deleted or expires
How We Use Your Data
- To index faces in event photos using AWS Rekognition
- To match guest selfies against indexed faces
- To provide analytics to event owners (aggregate, non-identifying)
- To process payments via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (signup confirmation, password reset)
Data Retention
- Guest selfies: Deleted within 24 hours
- Event photos: Retained until event deletion or 6 months after event date
- Face indexes: Deleted when event is deleted
- Account data: Retained until account deletion
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for biometric data processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
